Workforce Development Specialist

Background:

Founded in 1981, Jubilee Jobs (JJ) is a non-profit organization that prepares, places and supports unemployed and underemployed job seekers in the DC metropolitan area in their pursuit of marketplace jobs and a living wage. Clients are from diverse and disadvantaged backgrounds and may be justice involved, experiencing homelessness and/or in recovery.

The primary objective for this position is case management working with existing and new clients to upskill and place them in jobs. The position requires tracking and reporting client activity from intake to placement and follow up. Building and sustaining relationships with businesses, partner organization and employers to ensure a steady stream of job opportunities for clients. Superior communication skills, ability to multi-task, retaining a winning work attitude and an empathetic approach with clients is valued by Jubilee Jobs. Job Summary:

To provide intensive case management, career training, job placement and post-secondary connections to Youth and Adults per Jubilee Jobs process and guidelines.

Responsibilities:

-Conduct assessments and do Intake interviews with job seekers to evaluate work history, skills and stated barriers to employment

-Motivate and prepare clients for marketplace jobs, online applications and interviews

-Facilitate workshops, trainings, work experience (WEX) opportunities

-Actively expand job orders and employment opportunities for clients through constant employer development and marketing

-Track, meet and report monthly program goals to senior management

-Provide retention and follow up services upto onto one year of exited client

-Prepare and maintain case files (paper and electronic) for each client/participant

-Responsible for meeting with, contacting and providing services to participants

-Work with participants on identifying client barriers to employment and/or education

-Conduct activities with clients to enhance workplace and communication skills

-Actively expand job orders and employment opportunities for clients through constant employer development and marketing

-Promote JJ’s services and facilitate placement into internships, work experiences (WEX) and on the job training as identified through client assessment

-Ensure compliance with JJ policies and procedures, and applicable external regulations
