Hope

Gaining employment is often the most transformative event for those in need because an adequate income then enables that individual to provide for their most basic necessities. With more than 40 years of experience, Jubilee Jobs has developed a strong reputation for making strides to reduce poverty through job placement.

We believe that every applicant comes to us with a core of goodness. Therefore, all services begin at the place of strengths and positive gifts, no matter the past or previous experiences. Our strategy for success and advancement is to replace the isolation of unemployment with the productivity of a job and to increase levels of a supportive community around work.

Through the efforts of our employment professionals, our volunteers, our employer partners, and our donors we achieve this goal.

Jubilee Jobs Over the Years

Meet Gerald Gibson

Born and raised in Washington, DC, Gerald Gibson is a very hard worker. His first job was at Washington Hospital Center, where he worked for 34 years in a variety of positions, including in landscaping and as a painter and plasterer. After getting laid off in 2013, Gerald didn’t know where to find a job. His friend’s mother recommended Jubilee Jobs, and we helped him get a job at Colonial Parking, where he worked for eight years until he was laid off because of the pandemic. Gerald returned to Jubilee Jobs in July 2021, and his new Job Counselor Clary Colon helped him get a job at TJ Maxx, where Gerald has worked his way up to a cashier position. He hadn’t worked in retail in a long time and found it challenging at first. However, Gerald is committed to learning and becoming a team player, and he enjoys greeting and interacting with customers. Gerald said, “Jubilee Jobs helped me see the importance of being on time. They are a very passionate program, and I am very thankful they helped me land a new job.”
