STEP 1:
Make an Appointment
Call (202) 667-8970 to make an appointment with a Job Counselor. Intake appointments are scheduled for time slots between 9am-1pm Monday-Wednesday.
STEP 2:
Show up to your appointment 15 minutes early, with your required documents
We Follow I9 Guidance and require documentation upon intake. The required documents are:
- Current (Not Expired) State Issued Photo ID AND
- Social Security Card OR
- Proof of Authorization to work in the US with at least 6 months of eligibility remaining.

Our office is about a 15 minute walk from the Columbia Heights
(Green Line) and Woodley Park (Red Line) Metro Stations. It is less than a 5 minute walk from bus stops in the 42,43,90,92,96, and L2 Bus lines
At our office, you will complete our intake forms and meet your Job Counselor.
STEP 3:
Begin the Jubilee Jobs Program!
Your Job Counselor will walk you through the process of resume building, job preparation workshops, navigating online applications, arranging interviews and more. Clients are encouraged to follow the process for their success.
STEP 4:
Success!
After completing the interview process and receiving a job offer, you will begin your new job with the skills you will need to succeed! Please be sure to let your Job Counselor know if you get hired and stay in touch with Jubilee Jobs.
Once you are placed in a job, we also invite you to our monthly Job Friends dinners where working clients can check in with their Job Counselors, hear about relevant community resources, and share successes/challenges from their workplace. You will also be invited to certificate trainings as next steps in high demand careers in DC. We believe in your potential as you work on your longer-term career goals!
Job Preparation & Placement
When you come to your intake appointment, you will meet with your Job Counselor to discuss your job history, skills, goals, and specific circumstances. From there your Job Counselor will assist you with:
- Resume Building
- Interview skills workshop and practice interviews
- Assistance with online applications
- Job interviews with referrals provided
- Interview follow-up and feedback
- Once you are hired, assistance with onboarding paperwork
- You will also be invited to our hiring events with local employers
Industry Certificates for Career Pathways
Jubilee Jobs offers trainings for certificates in high-demand DC industries, including hospitality customer service, food safety, and basic IT certifications. These certificates give you an opportunity to move beyond entry level work into career advancement pathways offering family-sustaining pay, benefits, and a realistic pathway towards advancement.
To make these opportunities more accessible for our participants, we offer a short-term training format (1-2 weeks), stipends, and transportation cards.

Young Adult Programs
Our Digital Navigators Program for ages 18-24 and our annual Youth Summit offer support for young people seeking career advancement.
The Digital Navigator Program is a 8-week Training + Internship program.
Part 1: The 2-week training builds young adultsβ skills that are essential to career success and includes Northstar IT Certification. You will learn about:
- Effective Communication
- Leadership & Self Confidence
- Active Listening
- Time Management
- Conflict Resolution
- Northstar IT Certification
Part 2: The 6-week professional work experience at a DC community site allows you to build your employability and to help older adults navigate the digital divide. You will instruct older adults on using keyboards, sending emails, accessing online benefits and other resources, and conducting their online e-commerce functions. This internship will allow you to improve your employability by:
- Gaining Practical Work Experience and a Work Reference
- Gaining Insight into Workplace Expectations
- Building Professional Communication Skills
- Recognizing your Positive Contributions
- Exploring Career Paths

Many of our clients come to us with a range of other needs besides employment. We have a large network of local nonprofits and local government referral partners to meet any needs you may have for clothing, food, housing, financial literacy, childcare and health care and more.
