Returning Residents Support Groups

 Jubilee Jobs has become more knowledgeable and involved in the efforts to address the prison crisis in our country where 2.2 million individuals are now incarcerated. We serve about 17% of those returning from jail and prison to the District each year. Awareness is slowly growing in the applicant community that staying connected is crucial to success. We have initiated another support component we call “Returning Residents,” which specifically targets applicants who are ex-offenders returning to the area from prison or jail, by offering weekly group meetings at local faith communities to foster a deeper connection to the larger community. These groups will provide:

1. A weekly support community where they will know new hope and possibility.
2.  A structure where they are welcome, encouraged and assessed for specific needs.
3. A resource and referral system to help them navigate various barriers upon their return.
